Pink Stinks
THIS is a website designed to provide positive role models for girls. It "challenges the culture of pink which invades every aspect of girls' lives." So, basically, it's all about calling attention to the gender biases found in our culture today. The site gives examples of strong women who are contributing to society in a healthy way. (i.e. Meryl Streep, Dr. Dian Fossey, Christiane Amanpour.) All in all, I think this is a good cause because sometimes children get caught up in the roles they are given and don't explore all their options. And if there is an equivalent site for boys having to do with dinosaurs and monster trucks, please let me know.

We have a lot of pink stuff for our daughter. We're raise her as a girl, but not girly.
Little girls are taught to be cute, but the words that I'm using to praise her are: smart, strong, sweet, and tough. These are more important for a woman than pinksy-cuteness.
Mos' Def', yo. ;)
