Mah First Book Review!

So. Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. This book has gotten me a lot of attention. Today I was selling cupcakes at an event, and the people at the next booth asked me about it. It's certainly a conversation starter. But I digress. To quickly summarize, this book is about Abraham Lincoln's life, with stuff explained with the inclusion of vampires. For example, he runs for congress because the good vampires ask him to. Actually, since I'm taking the AP US History exam in a couple months, it was a good review of Lincoln's term. Historically it's mostly accurate, with the obvious exception of the undead.
I quite enjoyed this book, because while there were violent scenes, they were interspersed within the greater narrative well. It added greater interest to Abe's already interesting life through hidden motivations and the skilled melding of history and fantasy. The back stories Seth created (the colonies, the death of Lincoln's mother...) added nicely to the overall believability of the book. Overall, it was a good read, and I give it three-and-a-half stars.
